Las Americas provides Legal Consultations in our office at 1500 E. Yandell Dr. the first, second, and third Thursdays of the month from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm. The fee for consultations is $50, and is able to be waived in exceptional circumstances. We accept payment via cash, money order, check and all major credit cards. Please arrive early, as consultations are on a first-come-first-served basis.

We encourage bringing all relevant documents to the consultation, including original birth, marriage, and divorce certificates, but most especially any immigration-related documents such as the notice to appear, notice of hearing, etc.

Las Americas provides Legal Consultations at the El Paso Processing Center, Otero County Processing Center, and West Texas Detention Facility (Sierra Blanca) on a rolling basis. If you or a loved one are being detained by ICE in one of the above detention centers, please call our office at (915)-544-5126. You will be asked to provide the following information:

  • Name of the person being detained

  • Detention Center in which the person is being detained

  • Alien Registration Number (A-Number)*

  • Country of Origin

  • Next court date

  • If the person already has an attorney

  • If the person has already had a credible fear interview

  • If the person has a deportation order, and its date

If you do not know where your loved one is being detained, you may visit the ICE Locator and search for them by A-Number or Biographical Information.

*The A-Number, or alien registration number, is the number assigned to each person immigrating to the United States by the Department of Homeland Security. The A-Number starts with an “A” and is followed by 8 or 9 digits (e.g. A 123-456-7890).
